Has anyone else noticed that messages may sometimes get automatically
deleted or otherwise vanish from the INBOX? I have not experienced
this myself, and cannot duplicate it, but a client reports that every
once in a while they check email with squirrel-mail, notice that there
are a few messages in the INBOX, and when they check again a few hours
later, they are gone (and not locatable in any of the other folders).

I've asked the obvious questions, such as the possibility of other
people checking them, or another client machine somewhere periodcially
logging in and downloading the messages, and I'm told that that doesn't
happen. The logs seem to support that answer. And I suspect that
the client is *not* being completely dumb and deleting things without
knowing it.

Unfortunately, the IMAP logs don't show enough information that I
can tell what is happening.

Related question - is there anyway to get UW imapd to log more
transaction info?

Using UW imap and squirrel 1.2.5 on SuSE LInux 8.2, apache 1.3.27
php 4.2.3. JUst upgraded to squirrel 1.4.2, but haven't enough
experience yet to know if this makes any difference. SQM and IMAP
run on the same machine.

Thanks
neal
