I have never used the product and am trying to find out (for the girlfriend in another state) if this product supports forwarding mail to another address. I know in IMail which I use it is an administrative task and was wondering if the same rule applies in Squirrel Mail.

It *could*. SM is just an email client, and as such, forwarding depends on the server it is installed on. There are a couple forwarding plugins for SM, so it is possible your girlfriend's host has one of them installed. You'll have to pull some teeth, since we cannot answer your question here.
