Hi,
I am using SM 1.4.3.a on Redhat ES3.0 against the Oracle Collaboration Suite IMAP4 server. If you are not familiar witnthis it's an IMAP4 server where the store is the Oracle database.
I have used a number of IMAP4 clients without problem. Generally SM works really well, and I'm really impressed with the speed when jumping between folders. The one issue I'd be interested in thoughts on is how long it takes to complete the Folder list on login This appears to take a long time ,some times > 1 minute for 100ish folders. Once it's generated performance is great.
I have not seen similar issues generarting the equivalent under pine/Thunderbird/Outlook Express/mutt , so I'm curious if there ia anything I can do at either middle tier or server to improve the performance here. I have tried a variety of the predefined IMAP4 server settings ("other", "cyrus", etc)
