I am using Squirrelmail 1.4.2 on a well established mail server running Mandrake Linux 9.1 with UW IMAP, and POSTFIX with MailScanner (Spamassassin and CLAMAV combination)
This has been working very reliably, but with increasing user load and Squirrelmail proving very popular I was keen to increase it's responsiveness, and installed the IMAPPROXY as recommended on the Squirrelmail Performance WIKI. (http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/en_US/SquirrelMailPerformance)
This does seem to make a considerable difference however I get intermittant (but frequent enough to be annoying) errors on the folder list (LHS) of Squirrelmail as follows:
ERROR : Connection dropped by imap-server. Query: STATUS "INBOX" (MESSAGES UNSEEN RECENT)
This is normally when I first login. If I refresh the frame it disappears, and then next refresh same again, ie every other refresh.
Any ideas? This tends to happen with users who have large / complex folder listings (me!) whereas those with a smaller folder list do not have the problem.
Never seen this. Imapproxy works great here. I suggest you find the log entries that correspond to this problem and post them to the imapproxy mailing list, where you'll get better help.
