It's for your own protection. SquirrelMail blocks html mail formating that can disclose information about you to email sender or remote servers. http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/en_US/UnsafeImages When SquirrelMail adds sec_remove images, it also creates link that shows original images. There is plugin (http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=98) that allows creation of whitelists.
