Just an FYI, the latest version of Courier-IMAP will handle this much more
gracefully.  The folder will still be listed (since it's been subscribed
to) but attempts to select the folder will simply result in an error, not
a dropped connection.  Squirrelmail will list the folder in the left
column but will not make it clickable since it cannot be selected.  Might
be time to upgrade to Courier 3.0.7 (or Courier-MTA 0.47 if you use the
full suite).
