I have recently changed hosting services. I am now on Fedora Core 2 and using Squirrel Mail as the client. Spam Assassin 2.6 is running and the headers state that the PRIORITY_NO_NAME test failed. This appears to be because the X-Mailer is not present in the header. Has anyone seen this before? I looked at the FAQ but couldn't find anything.
Best thing to do is upgrade SA, since that's a SA bug, fixed in
v3.0. Or try using SM 1.4.3a, which I think has a temporary fix in
place... but since you give absolutely NO information per http://squirrelmail.org/wiki/wiki.php?MailingListPostingGuidelines
I have no idea what version of SM or any other software you are
using.
Sorry about the information. I don't know how to get it. I do know that I am running SM 1.4.2. I don't think that I have access to make changes to SA, as that apppears to be set for the whole server. Would it be possible for me to install SM 1.4.3a within my own account without affecting the 1.4.2 installation on the rest of the server? Please bear with me as I am new to all of this. Thanks.
Yes, you probably can install your own 1.4.3a, it should have no effect on any other SM installation, however I have no idea what you are working with (sounds like some kind of shared server environment). Make sure you have access to the information you need to set it up (IMAP server info, ability to chown diretories and files to the web user, etc). Or ask the person in charge of your server to upgrade SM - there are *security* fixes in 1.4.3a, so they are foolish to say no.
