Hello, I had a running 1.4.3 system and am trying to install 1.5.1 cvs for some tests. After the user presses the login button (from login.php), I get: Can't open ../data/default_pref No write permission in ../data/ to apache.
I checked the httpd.conf (running fedora core 2.9.2, apache) and username and groupname are both apache. Perms in the squirrelmail foler are: ... ... drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Oct 15 17:45 contrib -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 15131 Oct 15 17:45 COPYING drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Oct 15 17:45 CVS drwxr-xr-x 3 apache apache 4096 Oct 17 14:32 data drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Oct 15 17:45 doc drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Oct 17 13:45 functions drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Oct 15 17:45 help ... ... So, data is apache.apache. drwxr-xr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Oct 15 17:45 CVS -rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 48 Oct 15 17:45 default_pref -rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 469 Oct 15 17:45 index.php So, default_pref and other stuff are also apache.apache and with write permission.
