It is indeed in src/left_main.php.
I didn't like "purge" so changed it to say "empty". A little code addition/modification would probably work to add it to any folder you like. The trash folder is defined as $trash_folder and is a global variable.
Note that there *IS* a plugin that puts "empty" links next to any and all non-trash folders, but this request was, as I understood it, to be able to remove subfolders from the trash can entirely with one click, which said plugin does not do. Anyway, check this out if needed:
