Subject: [SM-USERS] Search Facility-IMAP Connection Dropped
Hi All,

I am running SquirrelMail on the following platform:

Debian Linux Woody 3.0r2
PHP 4.3.8-12
SquirrelMail 1.4.3a with xss patch

IMAP is run on the following platform:

OpenVMS 7.3
Process PMDF 6.2

Everything is running smoothly with the exception of SquirrelMail Search. Our
users access e-mail using various clients i.e. MS Outlook, Netscape and
SquirrelMail. MS Outlook and Netscape users can search for messages and obtain
correct results, however SquirrelMail Search issues the following error on
every search query:

Search Results
ERROR:
ERROR : Connection dropped by imap-server.
Query: SEARCH CHARSET "US-ASCII" ALL BODY {5} query
As our users can obtain search results from other e-mail clients, I do not
believe that this is a server configuration issue. Do I need to change the
CHARSET format or make some other configuration changes?
<marc>
Making the assumption that all those clients search messages in the same way is
a leap of faith. I seriously doubt that they do. Besides the obvious action of
checking the PMDF logs for why the connection was being dropped, I would
suggest that you disable server charset search under General Options. It
appears that PMDF might not support that feature. From my past experience with
PMDF I wouldn't be too surprised by that.

p.s. please post to the list in a plain text format.
