I'm not sure what you mean here by "distinguish smtp servers with esmtp.." According to the RFC, a mail client SHOULD start with EHLO ... when talking to any (E)SMTP server. If the server gives a positive response, the client should continue. If the server gives a negative response to the EHLO, the client SHOULD fall back to HELO...

Software that parses the text from the server upon initial connection to
the server is wasting time and effort... that text is meant for humans.
Many ESMTP-capable servers say "SMTP" in that text because the term is
used as a general description of the service, not meant to convey a
feature set. To determine features, use the protocol.
