We use Squirrelmail version 1.2.11 on an ensim server I've looked all over the the site administration area trying to figure out additional "details" to no avail. Sorry!
Anyway, here's the problem. TONS of spam messages are routed to our "catch-all" email account for (1) people who either used to have an email at our domain and have since left and had their email accounts deleted or (2) addresses on our domain which do not (and never have) existed. This email account gets hundreds of messages a day, which I then have to review and clear out. This situation causes two problems. (1) When someone accidentally sends a message to an incorrect account - say because of a typ-o - that person has no way of knowing that the intended recipient did not get the message because there is no delivery failure. We are a school, so parents get kind of irate when they think a teacher is ignoring their emails. (2) This causes an unnecessary maintenance burden, as someone has to go into that "catch-all" account and clear it out many times a week because of all the spam that ends up in there. In a week it accumulates THOUSANDS of messages. Is there not some way to "return as undeliverable" messages sent to accounts that don't exist on our domain? Thanks for any guidance!
