My setup details and plugin list is at the bottom of this message.
I have a largeish user base 2000+, the default setting for reading mails
is to open them in a new window.
The problem described below ONLY happens in Firefox (I'm using 1.06) and
Mozilla running on Linux. With Firefox (also 1.06) and IE under Windows
2000 Pro the problem doesn't appear at all. Haven't tried any other
browsers.
The problem is, if I open a message for reading (in a new window) and if I
hit "Delete" on top left in a message, the message window disappears as it
should, the message is deleted (as I later find out). However whatever
the next thing I ask SQM to do (e.g. refresh inbox, open a new message,
logout, basically anything) the browser just hangs for about 3-4 minutes
before completing the operation (I have php max_execution_time set to
180). The only alternative to waiting is to restart the browser and login
again. There are no errors in the browser window OR in Apache error log.
If I disable opening messages for reading in a new window the problem goes
away.
Furthermore, with "opening in a new window" set the problem occurs prob.
19 out of 20 times. Additionally, I only see this problem accessing the
SQM server from outside my LAN via a DSL connection. Inside my LAN the
problem doesn't occur.
The problem also seems to happen after moving a message to another folder
using the move options in the message window.
Delete and Next DOESN'T produce the problem when reading mail in a new
window.
I tried increasing these in IMAP but no difference:
MAXPERIP=100
MAXDAEMONS=100
Tried disabling server-side sorting and server thread sorting in SQM
config file but made no difference.
As this is a production server I'm reluctant to just disable all plugins
to see if it goes away.
Sorry about the long post, I've tried to include as much info as poss.
Any ideas anyone?
