Howdy all,
I apologize if this is a foolish question, I attempted to google up an
answer, but I wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for. Here's the
scenario (on all servers, the version of
squirrelmail/postfix/sendmail/uw-imap/courier/etc is the latest version in
portage, as of today):

I am moving domains (one at a time, thank god)

from a Gentoo Linux server running squirrelmail with sendmail, uw-imap and mail
users who have actual accounts on the box (that is, they are in /etc/passwd and
have files in /home/username). This server is also using mbox format for the
mail spool.

to a better Gentoo Linux server running squirrelmail with postfix, courier-imap
and virtual users (everything is in mysql). This server is using maildir,
obviously.

My migration is going smoothly (mbox to maildir for the user's spool is fine).
However my question is about the mbox files that squirrelmail stores (or,
rather uw-imap, most likely) in the user's home directory. I'm talking about
INBOX.Trash, INBOX,Sent, INBOX.Drafts and any folders that might have been
created by the user using squirrelmail.

What is the recommended course of action to migrate these flat files over to
the new server? That is to say, on the new server the home directory is of the
format /home/vmail/domain.com/user/.maildir and the squirrelmail .Trash, .Sent
and .Drafts appear to be maildir style directories?

Do I just process each mbox file from the old server using mb2md and make sure
the directories are named correctly or is there some squirrelmail magic that
might help me?

Thanks, in advance, for any help,

Shane
