SquirrelMail authenticates against your IMAP server.  So your problem is
with your IMAP server.  Find out why your IMAP server is still using the
old password, and you should be good to go.  SquirrelMail doesn't cache
any passwords.  SquirrelMail is a client like Thunderbird, or Outlook.
