Hello.
I use SqurrelMail 1.4.5 on SuSE Linux 10. It works fine. But today I got a
funny e-mail where the characterset was screwed up. But this mail works on
every other mail application I use (Thunderbird, Mail.app).
...
and that looks funny in html output. Is this SqurrelMail's fault? I have
seen, that this frame has no meta tag for the charset. Isn't this a tag
which an html pahe is supposed to have?

Switching from utf-8 to iso-latin-1 in Firefox or Safari doesn't help
either.

two issues.
1. space must be encoded in quoted printable format. Not a SquirrelMail
issue. rfc2047 2. Syntax of encoded-words

----
IMPORTANT: 'encoded-word's are designed to be recognized as 'atom's by an
RFC 822 parser. As a consequence, unencoded white space characters (such
as SPACE and HTAB) are FORBIDDEN within an 'encoded-word'.
----

If you see "=?some-character-set?q?this is some text?=" instead of "this
is some text", somebody decided that they can violate rfc.

2. 'unicode-1-1-utf-7' character set is not supported by SquirrelMail.
Some characters might be displayed incorrectly. SquirrelMail issue.
Provide correctly encoded message that allows to test this character set,
if you want to see it supported in SquirrelMail.

So the only solution is to tell the sender to stop that.

BTW. That was an autmated reply from someone on the snort mailing list today
telling everyone:
Cette notification d'état de remise est générée automatiquement.

Échec de la remise aux destinataires suivants.

       [EMAIL PROTECTED]

whatever that means. (I don't speak french :(.

Spammy, isn't it?

Thanks a lot and happy new Year!
Greetings!
