Read UPGRADE document provided in any squirrelmail package. http://www.squirrelmail.org/docs/admin/admin-4.html If you use 1.4.5 instead of 1.5.0, system should work as normal and most of security issues present in 1.5.0 are fixed. Main issue - you are actually downgrading from development to stable version and advanced tree option is not present.
