Is the SquirrelMail installation running on windows, or are you accessing it from Windows? If you are running it on windows, are you using IIS, or apache? Find your php.ini file, and check the upload_tmp_file setting. I'm not sure what PHP thinks the "system default" is, but try setting it to something if it is uncommented, for example on linux try: /tmp On windows, try: c:/temp Don't forget to make sure those directories exist. If you are using IIS, make sure the anonymous web users have access to read/write to that directory you specify. Other settings to check: file_uploads safe_mode open_basedir I believe we made the code not show the attachments form if file_uploads was turned off, but I'm not sure about the other two options. If you have safe_mode on, make sure you specify a directory that is owned by the owner of the script.
