You're using server side sorting. This means it is your IMAP server that is sorting by the email address, and not us. However... this is not a possible change. The RFC specifies that sorting by the FROM field requires the server to sort by the local part of the RFC2822 From address... That means the bit before the @ sign. So there is no way to really fix it.
