Option A. Make sure that sort setting is set to 6 in user preferences. Open http://your-server/path-to-squirrelmail/src/right_main.php?newsort=6&startMessage=1&mailbox=INBOX, if you are end user and can't change preference files or DB. Option B. Turn on server side sorting, if your IMAP server supports it.
