since 2 days we notice a strange error message from Squirrelmail from a
specific user (I'm translating it from German):

So for some reason, a wrong (increasing/recursive) folder name was chosen -
possibly by the sent_subfolder plugin?
The user has following probably relevant pref entries (selected prefkey|value
pairs from database):

I did not find reports of similar problems in the list archives.
Who can help to narrow down/fix this issue?
We have SM 1.4.18, PHP 4.3.3, and a proprietary IMAP server (with
$imap_server_type = 'other')
