I see I have to explain. I meant "safe" as in the only way to get rid of
such annoying things, not as in "the list must protect me".

I've been on many email lists for many years. This is only the second one in
all that time where the email addresses of a large part of the list seem to
be accessible, and which seems to get a regular portion of spam.

It's a valid point. Perhaps moderation would do the trick. Perhaps only
accepting emails from valid users.

If it's that hard to block such spurious emails, how come it doesn't happen
on any of my other mailing lists?

My, aren't we superior. Do you always suppose that everyone else on the 'net
is less technical than you obviously feel yourself to be?

Before you whip out such an email claiming that someone else is using Windows
or Outlook, perhaps you should check out mail headers. I'm running Kmail,
as in under KDE, running on Linux.

I'm not particularly alarmed by a stupid email virus. I'm annoyed that this
is the fourth time in a couple of months that there's been so much spam, and
fully half of it being viruses just makes it silly.

Well, bully for you.

Moron.
