So does anyone want to answer this question seriously? I do not want
SqWebMail to replace the <IMG> tags in HTML emails with <A HREF> tags. I
want the emails to display the Images in the email even if it allows
some sites to track email viewing.

Who's complaining? The lusers?
Will they still complain if they understand that autodisplaying images
means
that the spambags can now covertly track their web browsing?

I am sure this question has been asked before but I can't find a mailing
list archive for this mailing list, so here it goes.
When I pull up HTML emails in SqWebMail it displays all of the Images as
hrefs to the image. I would rather have it display the images so that
the emails look like they are supposed to look like. I understand some
of the reason that you may not want to display images but I have more
complains than anything else. I know that SqWebMail is programmed to
strip out the IMG tags out of the HTML and replaces them with A HREF
tags instead.
Does any one know how to change this behavior? All that I see is that I
will have to rewrite a bunch of code. If there is an easier way to do
this I would really like to know.
Please point me in the right direction if this question has been
answered.
Thank you,
Joe

Hello Joe, I'm not a sqwebmail guru but I have implemented some changes that I wanted namely READ-ONLY "From:" and similar things I wanted in sqwebmail as a personal preference. I went over the code thoroughly and realized that code changes were the only reliable way to do what I wanted. The code is not that hard to understand and the benefits are you get what you want. Unfortunately, there probably is no "easy" way to implement the changes you want. hope this helps, David.
