My comments were more from the perspective of trying to figure out if this PR
should be merged before branching 6.1, being a commonly-used module, I would
prefer not to go with a half-solution.
Definitely things can be improved, MI/RPC was initially designed to be a serial
interface, with a single process executing RPC commands, but later some
rpc-transports allow parallel connections for rpc execution.
When a new data model to store and reload records is decided, it should be used
across the module (address+trusted), that makes it easier to
maintain/troubleshoot.
I will try find some time to look over the changes introduced by this PR and
comment more.
