Hi Kevin,

Usually, its recommended to stay within the supported Kamailio releases
(currently 5.4.x and 5.5.x) for production systems.

Regarding update process: There are upgrade documents with changes/database
adaptions in the wiki.
If the configuration is not too complex or uses a lot of modules, one could
install the new version and fix the remaining errors that are reporting during
first start up or are found in the tests.

Cheers,

Henning

Subject: [SR-Users] Upgrading from version 5.2 to 5.4 - any unpublished words
of wisdom?

Hi:

I have a 5.2 version of Kamailio running and I was thinking to get it upgraded
to the 5.4 branch. The 5.2 is working well but I have heard the
5.4 is a bit more stable. Thus the question becomes, is it worth the risk to
upgrade and what should I look out for.

Thanks.

Kevin
