You'd be looking at kamailio from an asterisk perspective, they are
nothing alike (but rather complement each other). Once you have an idea
how kamailio works as registrar and proxy, the tutorial on integration
with asterisk (and why there is a shared db between them) should be kind
of obvious.

I guess, but also dig around in the archives of this mailing list. There
is a good change any question you have already has been asked in the
past (and hopefully answered).
