Position : Oracle DBA Duration: 6 months with a potential contract to hire Location: Hoover, AL (River chase Operations Center)
Required Skill Set: 3 years solid experience as a DBA supporting multiple production Oracle database environments. This 3 years must include: • Oracle database technology installation and configuration • Use of Oracle OEM for monitoring and problem analysis • Database problem analysis and root-cause resolution • Database recovery and data restore methods • Application SQL statement analysis and tuning • Strong capabilities working in Unix server environments • Demonstrated capabilities to work as part of a team, and deliver results independently Desired Skill Set: In addition to the above required skills, these skills are beneficial: • Oracle RAC experience and knowledge • Implementation & support of Oracle database clustering (active / passive) • Oracle replication techniques • Ability to successfully organize and prioritize multiple work activities • Ability to clearly communicate technical direction • Strong critical thinking and problem analysis skills • Experience handling problems and reporting issues to inline management. Description of need: This position will perform the activities and functions of a Database Administrator (DBA) supporting Oracle technology platforms and application databases.
