The Systems/Software Administrator is responsible for setup, configuration
and support of COTS solution software. The Systems/Software Administrator
provides complete administration for system software solutions. The
Systems/Software Administrator will:
- Perform systems software and COTS evaluations, analyses and
troubleshooting for all required software solutions, maintain problem
resolution documentation
- Maintain and update documentation on all existing services and
solution including, software and solutions; set up and maintain new
services
- Implement baseline changes and respond to change requests
- Complete software configuration, setup, installation services,
hardware and coordination of application projects; operate and maintain the
software solution – Cognos, JBoss, IBM Raionale
- Install new software releases, system upgrades, and perform system
backups and recovery
- Document solution and configuration problems and resolutions for
future references
- Ensure Information Technology (IT) software installation and
configuration complies with industry standards
- Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning
- Manage vendor issues in regards to associated software and equipment
- Work proactively and ensure proper measures are in place to provide
exemplary system and solution uptime; plan and communicate scheduled
downtime for maintenance
- Plan, execute and complete projects on time and on budget
- Maintain industry/technical knowledge base and facilitate/maintain
industry relationships
- Demonstrate commitment to providing customer-focused quality service
- Support assigned systems with on-call availability and respond within
agreed upon timeframes
- Perform other relevant duties based upon experience
- Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience in administering
systems software, technical services and support to a complex solution
- Jboss Fuse ESB / Fuse MQ (aka Active-MQ or A-MQ) - Installation &
Configuration, Keystore configuration, Trouble shooting and Performance
Tuning
- JBoss EDS - Installation & Configuration, Troubleshooting and
Performance Tuning
- IBM Cognos - Installation, Configuration
- Connectivity to different data stores
- Cognos Security Configuration
- Configure Namespace
- Configure SSO
- Change Cognos look and feel (aka Branding)
- IBM Rational Product Suite Installation & Configuration
- Rational Functional Tester
- Rational Performance Tester
- Rational Quality Manager
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to
clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders; must be a team
player who works well with technical and non-technical resources
