Position *:* *Hyperion Essbase Developer* Location: San Francisco, CA Duration: 06 Months+ Rate : $DOE/ hr *Top 3-5 MUST HAVE technical skills: * o At least 5 years in essbase development (or other hyperion products) Must have built systems, not just managed or administered o Proven expertise in developing and maintaining automated Excel templates a big plus. (VBA) o Knowledge of Hyperion Finance Reports (HFR) and Web Analysis a plus. o Heavy hyperion planning Top 3-5 daily responsibilities? o Design, develop, deploy and document new Essbase development projects. o Partner with support staff in maintaining and administering existing Essbase systems and related operational reporting. o Develop and maintain SQL queries to pull data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) into Essbase. o Maintain and develop Excel input and reporting templates, using VBA as necessary to streamline tool efficiency and automate tasks. o Support the Gap Inc.’s project management policies, including adherence to Agile project methodologies. o Remain current with Oracle / Hyperion products and capabilities; recommend new products or technical techniques where appropriate. o Develop an understanding of key financial and operational systems at Gap Inc. and how they interface with the Essbase BI applications. o Analyze and resolve problems of simple to medium complexity; research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution. o Partner with Finance professionals to improve processes through technology and automation; develop an understanding of key business concepts and operations. o Coordinate/drive user acceptance testing, make recommendations around solution adoption and change management, and prepare the business for system readiness.
