Hello, SRFI contributors and friends. Today marks the start of the fifth
decade of Scheme, which was first announced on this date in 1975 in MIT
Artificial Intelligence Lab Memo 349, *Scheme: An Interpreter for Extended
Lambda Calculus* (PDF
<https://dspace.mit.edu/bitstream/handle/1721.1/5794/AIM-349.pdf>). And
the SRFI process reached twenty-six years on September 26th.

I am grateful to everyone who has contributed to Scheme this year,
including all SRFI authors, implementers, reviewers, contributors, readers,
and critics, and to your families and loved ones. I'm looking forward to
many more years with this wonderful language and community.

Happy holidays, and happy new year!
