Hmm if 2.7 behaves anything like 2.6 I think Stefan will be better off
hunting for some binaries.

I have a sparc2 with solaris 2.6 and an AST Manhattan running solaris
2.6 (for x86) .

The install for the Manhattan went fairly ok (make sure if your not
running X to pass the --without-x flag to configure) . But the install
on the sparc is still haunting me. I was using the gcc 2.8.1 compiler
during both installs.
