Shouldn't be a problem.

That would show in netstat.
Suggestion: edit the sshd startup file to change
sshd ...
into
truss -f 2>/tmp/sshd.truss.out sshd ...
Then look at the truss output. That will show the failing call, and will
probably point the way more precisely to the problem.
Thought: If you've told sshd (in the config file) to bind to a
particualr IP address instead of the default (which is "all
interfaces"), did you forget to change that address to match the new
subnet? That'd do it.
