Hello, I know this must have come up a thousand times on this list, but I've been trying to get SSH to work behind my firewall for a week and I really couldn't find anything helpful on the web or the archive. I tried the USENET group but couldn't find much help there either. I figured writing to this mailing list might a good idea... Anyway, as I said, I'm trying to get SSH to work through my firewall here, so I can securely connect to the machines at school. I also want to be able to get X11 to tunnel through my firewall (should be able to if I can get SSH to go through). My machine here is running Windows 95 (I have no choice because I need PowerPoint), I can only telnet and ftp out, web traffic is handled through a proxy server. I have a few windoze SSH clients but none of them works. I do not have root access to the servers to which I want to connect, however I am able to run `sshd -i`. Some guy at the newsgroup said I could run sshd with inetd, and set the ProxyCommand var to run `telnet -E8` or something, I didn't quite understand how that works, maybe someone here could clarify. Any suggestions would really be appreciated, I really need SSH so I could use PGP and other stuff at school... Thank you! p.s. please include my address when replying as I'm not subscribed to the list. /ayn -- Andrew Y Ng, Intern, Telecomm Strategy 512/723-1988 or 800/BUY-DELL x3-1988 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Intranet: http://143.166.195.213 Web: http://andrew.Ngbert.org Text msg: [EMAIL PROTECTED] //finger [EMAIL PROTECTED] if more contact info is needed
