My apologies, it should be hostname.of.solaris.machine:10.0
(By default ssh will offset the $DISPLAY variable starting at 10)

Again, my apologies, I was thinking of the pre-ssh days, when
you had to do that.

Atro is right, you should not need to add any xhost access on the
PC, as ssh takes care of all that for you.
