I haven't had this problem but, I've always had problems using gcc with SSH on SGI
gear.
If you have a native compiler I suggest you try it and see what happens. That usually
works for me.

On O2K's I found it did not finish computing the keys (ok, that was awhile
ago and that may have been fixed but, ....).
