All,
I just noticed the sudden disappearance of traffic from the ssh
mailing list and the linux-ipsec mailing list (both distributed by
clinet.fi). I found the traffic sitting in one of my "spam cans". I
use a couple of RBL (Realtime Blackhole List) services to filter out
spam. Rather than discard it, I dump it into "spam cans" which get
mucked out periodically. That way I can catch things like this...
In any case, it appears that lohi.clinet.fi has been blacklisted
by ORBS (www.orbs.org). That means that someone complained to ORBS that
spammers were abusing that system and relaying spam through it. ORBS
runs a mail relay test against the system that's the subject of the
complaint. If they fail, they are notified of the failure and the system
is blacklisted until they get it fixed. It also means that anyone using
the RBL features in sendmail (I'm using them with procmail) will never even
receive any messages from the blacklisted systems.
Would the system administrators please fix this problem?
I'm Cc'ing the two lists, knowing that the people affected by this
problem are unlikely to see this message. I think others on the list need
to be aware of the problem. That is so if anyone starts to complain that
they are no longer receiving mail from the list, we all know why...
Mike
