ssh 1.2.27 on HPUX 9.05

First I could not load after the compilation because the loader could not
find vsnprintf.  So I added snprintf.o the list of COMMON_OBJS and tried to
compile.  At that point I got the message

Signal 11: segmentation violation
*** Error code 1

Never seen a segmentation violation on a compile before.
