Hi,

There are many things that could cause this.

After you have looked for all the regular causes (see the use of the 
-l and -i switches for ssh), check the reverse resolution on one of 
the boxes, or on a firewall box in-between. Look in the archives of 
this group to see any other causes.

A good thing to do is to check /var/log/messages (in linux) and see 
why the two don't talk. That is how I found out this one.
