This is my /etc/syslog.conf
daemon.debug /var/log/daemon.log
And this is some of my /var/log/daemon.log
Feb 15 18:17:12 myhost sshd1[4400]: log: Generating 768 bit RSA key.
Feb 15 18:17:15 myhost sshd1[4400]: log: RSA key generation complete.
Feb 15 18:17:15 myhost sshd1[4400]: log: Connection from a.b.c.d port
