With the "problem ISP" there may not be a proper forward and reverse DNS
mapping for the IP address(es) that you're being given when you dialup. Do
a nslookup and see if this is the case. If so, contact the sysadmin at
that ISP and have them take care of it, as this problem will also affect
your ability to (for example) download strong-encryption web browsers or
connect to any service that uses TCP wrappers.
