Anne,
this is what I obtain:
# /usr/ssh2/bin/ssh-keygen2 -P /etc/hostkey.junk
Generating 1024-bit dsa key pair
3 o..oOo.oOo.o
Key generated.
1024-bit dsa, [EMAIL PROTECTED], Tue May 16 2000 02:12:35
Key is stored with NULL passphrase.
Private key saved to /etc/hostkey.junk
ssh_encode_pubkeyblob: failed to get internal parameters from a DSS public
key.
Public key not written !
Didier.

Hi Didier,
Make sure you do this:
# ssh-keygen2 -P /etc/hostkey
That will generate both the public key and the private key for the
host keypair.
