sshd will go into background mode and close the "parent".  init then respawns
sshd since it thinks it has died, and it happens again.  lather rinse repeat.

You may be able to tell the daemon to not go into background mode, but it's a
heck of a lot easier to just make a startup script to start the daemon and be
done with it.
