'-p' means to preserve permissions. So all you do is set the permissions you want
prior to using the command.
Works great.

Subject: SSH, file perm's/mask
I would like to be able to control the file permissions on the
destination files that get scp'd over to our machine. (e.g., 700) FTP
has an option to set a mask in its inetd entry. I don't see anything
similar to that for sshd. --Does anyone know of some way to do this,
either at the inetd level (or any level !) ??
Thanks in advance!
