Question: What could be causing this on an installation of openssh on a slackware system? bedrock:~$ ssh localhost login: No such file or directory Connection to localhost closed. Connections from remote systems get somthing different, basically permission denied errors when indeed the password entered is not invalid (although the /var/log/messages log indicates that an invalid one was entered). This same problem was fixed on a red hat box with a pam sshd file addition (in /etc/pam.d/) - but slackware doesn't have support for pam (or does it?). -- PG.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Philip Greer Batavus [EMAIL PROTECTED] NSS# 39936
