I was just using sftp (ssh-2.2.0) on two SGIs to transfer a couple of
files. I changed directories using "cd" and "lcd" and typed
get file1 file2 file3 file4 file5 .
Unfortunately, sftp decided that I wanted all of the files in the *entire*
directory! It transfered about 20 files and over-wrote some existing ones
before I could stop it.
How long a file list can sftp handle? This has worked for for me in the
past when I have transferred 2 or 3 files, so I suspect has to do with the
allowed character length allowed for the command.
