Hi,

I've installed the Openssh 2.1.1p1 without any changes, exactly as per the
INSTALL
document that is distributed with it on three platforms:

Redhat Linux 6.2
HP-UX 10.20
AIX 4.3.2

The installations all went smoothly, however I can only ssh to the AIX
server:

SSH FROM SSHD TO Success?
Linux AIX YES
Linux Linux NO
Linux HPUX NO
AIX AIX YES
AIX Linux NO
AIX HPUX NO
HPUX AIX YES
HPUX Linux NO
HPUX HPUX NO

Installing Openssh 1.2.2 that is distributed with Redhat 6.2 did work
however.

The error received when attempting to ssh into a non AIX server is always:

"Permission denied, please try again."

I have investigated but can't get it to work - I'm only trying to get it
to work as a secure telnet session (don't need any automatic entry aka rcp).
I assume that non AIX platforms must need something tuned on top of
the default installation? Is this a common user-type question or a problem?

Any help much appreciated, I trust this is the correct mailing list for
these type
of questions as it is listed under "General SSH user discussion list" @
www.openssh.com.

Sincerely,

Alistair Nelson mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
