Thanks for all the input. I had to scratch my head for a while, because I 
*did* have kernel-headers (as far as rpm reported.) Sometimes I just *hate* 
rpms. Anyway, I had updated my kernel a while back to 2.2.16, and I don't 
recall what I did with regard to rpm stuff. So, I removed the kernel-source 
and kernel-headers rpms, re-installed them. Then did a make distclean in my 
openssh source directory.
I was able to compile openssh successfully.
Now...to get it working ;-)
