Question on ssh logging

Hello!   I am a newbie to sshd (OpenSSH 2.1.1p4), and I have just compiled it on Solaris 8.  It works great, but I can't seem to get it to log any messages (even with LogLevel DEBUG and SyslogFacility AUTH).  Is there a trick to get this to work that I am unable to find in the man pages and faqs?   Thanks!  If there is a more appropriate place to post this message, please let me know.   Kristy
