I'm having the same problem. From littlecat, I can ssh to neofelis with no
password. But when I ssh to a remote site, where I have also put my public
keys, I am asked for my password. I checked the sshd_config files and the
OpenSSH versions and they are identical. The only difference I can think of is
that the remote host is behind a port forwarding firewall.
On top of that, when I ssh to the remote site, XAUTHORITY is set to
~/.Xauthority, not to the file in /tmp/ssh*, even though I have changed
/etc/profile.d/xhost.sh on both. When I manually set XAUTHORITY, X forwarding
works.
I think Jadis has arrested Tumnus, but has not turned him into stone yet - when
she does you won't be able to log in at all.
