I am trying to automate a connection between two linux boxes.
Both are running OpenSSH, one the client, the other the server.
Everything works great when run my expect script by hand, from a terminal.
When I run my expect script with a cron job, the 'messages' log on the
remote host says:

'sshd[pid]: Did not receive ident string from xx.xx.xx.xx'

I can only think that ssh crashed before it got to that part of the
exchange, or something else is terminally wrong.
Anyway, ssh is not spitting out any diag info to stdout or stderr (even with
-v) for me to figure it out.
I have been unsuccessful in setting up a identical environment which I can
debug in. All I have been able to do it spit out stuff to a file, and that
isn't very helpful. I am hoping that somebody here will look at this message
and say, "Do <this>, you bozo, and all your problems will go away."

Any help would be appreciated.

p.s., I can't use BatchMode, as I will not have connected to the remote host
before.
